Trader / Junior Trader


As trader / junior trader you will be positioned in the Rotterdam head office. You will start with a thorough familiarisation period on tea and the organisation. During this period, you will learn and experience in practice the commercial aspects of our business, which includes purchasing, selling and the use of marketing tools, along with tea tasting and grading. You will be trained as a tea trading specialist for which purpose you are expected to spend time in one or more of our overseas offices.

A practical and analytical approach, initiative, creativity, perseverance, determination and an ability to think laterally are keys to becoming successful in this company. You love to communicate with clients & suppliers, whether they are based in South America, Europe or Asia.



Vereisten

Candidate profile:

  • Higher education or graduate level;
  • Educated in agriculture, food technology, business economics or similar;
  • Commercial work experience (3 to 10 years);
  • Excellent command of English both written and spoken, good command of the Dutch language is a big advantage;
  • Affinity with soft commodities is a pre;
  • Self-starter and deal maker with an instinctive commercial feeling;
  • Willingness to travel is a must;
  • Able to work with all nationalities and have strong customer focus;
  • Good communicator and team player;
  • Pragmatic attitude;
  • Experience in shipping and logistics is a plus;
  • Driving license B
